Bi-Weekly Update
This is a new feature to be implemented here at SBG, as a way to keep everyone on the up and up of what's going on around these parts. First off, the April LAN in Toledo, OH was a great success! We had several different people coming in and out throughout the weekend, with everyone having a blast. We're currently working on two more LANs for later in the Summer, one on each coast. Check out all the info on our LANS page. Everyone has been enjoying the new Legendary Map pack, and we're gearing up for some clanmatches that will probably feature a certain snow covered behemouth. One of our competitive teams, Exodus, is currently participating in the Podtacular Spring 2008 Tournament, make sure to track their progress on the bracket page. Other than that, make sure to check out our constantly evolving Teams page, as well as the regularly updated Player of the Month section.
Competitive Team Shuffle
Here at SBG Gaming, we always try to encourage competitive gaming amongst our members. Naturally, groups will emerge in this type of environment, and we've housed several official teams for some time now. Recently, with the tons of new members flowing into the clan in the wake of the Bungie Humpday Challenge, we've done a shuffling of sorts among some of the teams. Revelation, under new captain WhoeverUR, is now acting as our main competitive team, concentrating on MLG gametypes; Exodus, our four-man MLG squad (captained by Pooblaster) is now functioning under the banner of Revelation, allowing both teams more practice options. Omega has done a complete 180 and is now our official Big Team Battle team; Omega also has a new leader in Cleric. Genesis is entertaining some new members and has been re-energized for some Springtime action. Dunamis has become our official Call of Duty 4 squad, and has been rolling over the competition at gamebattles.com. Our Grifball crew went undefeated in the first annual regular season of the official Grifball.com league, and is looking to repeat that success in the upcoming Spring league. The newly formed SBG Trinity will look to include some of the more competitive newer members from the clan, we look for good things from these guys!
SBG Gaming vs. Bungie Studios
Wow! What an opportunity that we have been blessed with! Through several of the staff working together, we have secured a slot in the weekly Bungie.net Humpday Challenge! From our humble beginning in 2006, none of us could've imagined we'd be playing against the creators of our favorite game. It's almost surreal! Check out our writeup of the challenge.
